ElectraGlobe’s Scope: ElectraGlobe was responsible for the detailed electrical design and construction support, ensuring compliance with Australian and international standards. Our work included:

Detailed Electrical Design Inclusions:

  1. Concept to Issue for Construction (IFC) Package:
    • Development of a comprehensive design package from the initial concept phase to detailed IFC documents.
  2. PV Array Configuration:
    • Design of PV module strings and sub-arrays interconnected through DC string cables and combiner boxes.
    • Incorporation of DC combiner boxes and inverter DC bus systems.
    • Layout and blocking plans based on optimal tracker orientation and module placement.
  3. DC Reticulation:
    • Detailed design of DC electrical connections from PV modules to combiner boxes and inverters.
    • Analysis and optimization of DC voltage levels and compliance with standards.
    • Detailed cabling design including sizing, voltage drop, and current carrying capacity assessments.
  4. Earthing and Lightning Protection:
    • Development of earthing and lightning protection systems in compliance with AS 1768 and IEEE80 standards.
    • Soil resistivity analysis and earthing design to ensure safety and system reliability.
  5. MV Cable Design and Reticulation:
    • Medium voltage cable design and reticulation in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
    • Inclusion of MV cable rating studies, layout drawings, and trench profiles.
